Doris Weir

Piano

Doris has a Bachelor of Music from Duquesne University. During her time at Duquesne, she completed her piano study with Beverly Nero, and her organ study with Brett Edler and Ann Labounsky Steele.  She completed her Suzuki training with Kiki Barley. Doris has been a PMA faculty member since 2000.

In addition to teaching piano, Ms. Weir served as the Director of Music Ministry, Organist and Choir Director at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Currently, she is playing for various churches in the Greater Pittsburgh area for weddings, funerals, various masses and services. Teaching is her main passion. Throughout her career she has maintained a large teaching studio at various schools in the area. From Ms. Weir, “Being with and teaching children is an absolute joy.  As a mother of five, I understand the uniqueness of each child and feel my parenting enhances my ability to teach.”
